Principal

Elena Abraham

Elena Abraham has spent more than 15 years in legal practice. Elena began her career as an outdoor clerk in 2005 before taking up a position as a paralegal. She quickly qualified as a police station representative before qualifying as a solicitor in 2010 at a highly regarded city firm.

Throughout her career, she has worked on cases including large-scale conspiracy cases, murder, large scale fraud, confiscation, money laundering GBH and robbery at the crown court.  In 2010, she began to work in the Regulatory Law and White Collar Crime department of the city firm where she worked closely with a senior partner on cases prosecuted by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, Financial Services Authority (now the Financial Conduct Authority), Trading Standards, Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, the General Medical Council and various other regulatory bodies.

Elena has a proven track record in successfully representing clients accused of criminal offences including but not limited to fraud, drugs possession and supply offences, theft, murder, violence related offences (assaults, assaults occasioning actual bodily harm, grievous bodily harm and malicious wounding), sexual offences, damage to property, malicious communications and road traffic offences. Her cases have regularly appeared in the news and have included investigations by the Flying Squad, Trident, HMRC, the National Crime Agency as well as various police forces around the country, where she travels regularly to represent her clients.

Elena regularly appears as an advocate in the Magistrates Court and specialises in representing suspects at the police station as she recognises that what happens at that early stage can drastically influence how and if a case proceeds to court.

Elena is a proud member of the Eritrean community and is regularly called on to give talks to the east African community on criminal matters and individuals’ rights during the course of criminal investigations.

Elena speaks Tigrinya and basic Arabic.  She is a member of the LCCSA.

To date, she has represented thousands of clients and can be found at police stations in the dead of night or courts throughout the day.  However, when she is not working, she enjoys tennis, travel and stand-up comedy.

Recent client reviews

I was extremely impressed with the level of support, professionalism and the strategic approach. It was also highly important to me that my solicitor and barrister would ‘get me’, i.e understand the situation in detail and build the best defence possible. I was not disappointed. Both Elena Abraham and barrister were absolutely brilliant.

I had an interview the other day with a police officer. As uneasy and unpleasant it feels to have to visit a police station, not only did Elena support me, but she helped me keep calm throughout my experience. Not only is she professional and punctual, she was easy to contact and ask questions and made the experience easier than it would’ve been. Much appreciated Elena

From Z.MD

I found Elena to be friendly but professional, articulate, efficient and very clear with her legal guidance at what was an extremely tense and important time for me.  Together with my appropriate adult, Elena answered all of my queries in an excellent way and put me in a calmer and better frame of mind for the police interview that followed.  I listened to Elena’s advice and I found out today that I will not be charged by the police; a massive relief for me.  I would recommend Elena wholeheartedly to anyone who finds themselves in the same position that I was.

ELENA ABRAHAM: an absolute amazing solicitor! She has supported me in my criminal matter from the start and showed not only professionalism, but the most polite and genuine person. She handled my case answering all my queries and concerns, she would answer my calls and messages with a smile and assure me on every action taken. The representations she put forward on my behalf were impeccable, and this is what allowed my case to be withdrawn before even going to trial! She was a huge blessing in such a horrible ordeal in my life.
